Alexandria Chamber of Commerce
The city of Alexandria lies on the north West Coast of Egypt with a population of about 4 million inhabitants. It occupies an important position in Egypt’s national economy. 40% of Egypt’s industries are located in Alexandria, and yet the importance of Alexandria as an industrial city is increasing due to the industrial free zone at Amreya, the Borg El Arab El Guedida industrial zone and the two airports in Dekheila and Nouzha. Besides that 80% of Egypt’s trade pass through Alexandria port, one of the biggest harbors on the Mediterranean.
The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce founded since 1922 thus considered the oldest chamber in Egypt. It is special as it is located in Alexandria - the first port of Egypt – where trade activities are based such as export-import transactions. The main aim of A.C.C. is to look after the commercial interests in Alexandria.
The membership of A.C.C. is obligatory for anyone who practices any commercial or industrial activity in Alexandria, and now the members of A.C.C. are nearly 140,000 member covering all sectors of trade.
The A.C.C. is a member of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce in Cairo, and member of the permanent office of the Federation of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
